Eight years of "Clinton Hatred." The same assault on Obama has started. |
|
Edited on Tue Dec-09-08 01:19 PM by Cyrano
Prepare yourself for four or eight years of insane wingnut attacks on Obama's actions, ancestry, color, his "uppity wife," his "using a dog for his kids as a prop," and every other attack imaginable, or even -- at this point -- unimaginable.
Barack Obama is a threat to each and every American power center that has developed over the past 30 years. And if you need a definition of that, it's the Republican Party, the DLC, rednecks who play banjos and vote, Rupert Murdoch, and ... well, name it. Those who hold power will not let go because some guy who "doesn't know his place," managed to "con enough people to vote for him."
We have a duty to fight this hatred. We have a duty to stand up to it every time we are personally confronted with it. We have a duty to try to reinstate some semblance of civilization into what I sarcastically call "American civilization."
Our voices have not been heard for the past eight years. And if the truth be known, our voices have probably not been heard since January 20th, 1981, the day that Saint Ronnie began the destruction of our country on a vast scale.
Use the most powerful weapon you have. Speak out. Loudly and vehemently.

it was Dems that went after Clinton - presidential race cop-outs and losers like Sam Nunn, Rockefeller, etc. - that hurt Clinton hard and early in his term. Southerners most of 'em.

"Barack Obama is a threat to each and every American power center that has developed over the past 30 years."
No, he was 100% onboard for the TARP. Unless you are counting Wall Street as a "power center" that developed PRIOR to the last 30 years?

4. So do the non-rednecks who play banjo count? |
|
That "banjo playing" comment was fairly ridiculous. I know of at least two banjo players who are ardent supporters of Obama. Check out the cd, "Reclaiming the Banjo" sometime. It is by Otis Taylor and I bet he voted for Obama too. Non redneck banjo player.

Patriotism = Obama
Country = the Leader
The Leader = the Country
Any criticism of the president while we have troops in the field only helps Al Qaeda.
If they don't like the way he in running the country, then they should leave America.

That is really all they had on Clinton wasn't it? A blowjob...even after Bush f***ed everything up and STARTED A F***ING WAR ON FALSE PRETENSES?!?!?
The sheer ludicrousness of it lives on...

I've got my gripes (tame as they are they could be called bits of honest criticism) against some of Clinton's doing but really...it was all about a fricking blowjob.

unpunished, be prepared for four to eight years of character assault hell from the neo-cons. The only way to shut them up will be to expose the corruption and crimes of the present administration, and the only way to do this is putting them on trial one way or the other.

To be brutally honest, we were not kind to Bush either. I know he deserved little of course. TYhe only difference is they are more effective at their reflexive loathing, as they are more unified.

There were certainly some fringe Bush claims akin to the death list, and Clinton obviously did have an affair (or more) and lie about it, but we certainly told more truth, and about much more politically important things.
To examine ourselves fully though, would we not have sought dirt of whatever bona fides on any Republican president or candidate?

Mt. Everest, which was done to Clinton in Monicagate. Remember that started as an investigation into the Clintons, both Bill and Hillary for corruption in real estate dealings. But when they investigated that and couldn't find any improprieties, they did find out about Bill's adulteries and this is what they went with making it into a huge issue, which it wasn't. Now there is a question about Jeff Gannon, the male escort, turned "reporter" who seems to have had unlimited access to the Bush Oval Office. Yet, no one on our side went after it as an official investigation, wasting millions of dollars of taxpayer's money, because it probably was only about sex and we don't do that. We just laughed and sneered about it as gossip because that is all it was.

Or not. The DLCers he's appointed may very well turn out to not be our "enemies." They might be great assets to Obama and, in turn, our country. Let's wait and see.

21. The minority status of wingnuts doesn't count. |
|
They still control the vast majority of the media.
Newspapers are dying, out so they will count less and less. But talk radio, the Sunday morning propaganda fests, and the ongoing existence of Fox "News," will still have an impact for the next few years.
Having said that, the right wing is losing their control of the mass media. Blogs have become influential, but expect to see more and more wingnut blogs being created by those more clever than the typical freeper.

34. Obama, a harder target for the thugs??? Think about |
|
Kerry, Dukakis, McGovern, and Humphrey.
We're talking about sewer rat-fucking Republicans who could have made FDR look like a Nazi sympathizer and made JFK look like a Commie-dupe.
Don't underestimate your enemy. And make no mistake about it: conservative Republicans are our enemy.
It's been said that our country could only be destroyed by internal enemies. Look at what's happened since Saint Ronnie took office. And then look at what's been done by BushCo in the last eight years.
Obama is in the cross hairs. And it's up to us, and like-minded people, to put a stop to it.

These thugs are experts at character assassination.
Dems, on the other hand, are more likely to turn the other cheek.
That just won't do this time. If we don't fight the thugs this time around -- and not just fight them, but ground them into the dust -- then we may not get another chance in our lifetime.
This election gave us (Dems) the power. Use it or lose it.
