My fight in the war against Christmas
and the sweet baby Jesus himself.

So, I went to the post office to send off cards and packages, but didn't have enough stamps at home. When I asked the girl behind the counter for some stamps, she handed me some with Mary and the baby Jesus. I asked if they had others and she said that those were the only Christmas stamps available. I don't particularly care, so I went with my (only) other option of the Liberty Bell stamps.

Is that weird? No snowflakes, snowmen or presents. Just Jesus. What about those of us who want to celebrate the glory of capitalism and the commercial society?? Hahaha.

So, take that Bill-O! No baby Jesus stamps for me!

1. I have old flag stamps.
Ones that aren't worth enough anymore so I have to use two. Nothing says joy-to-the-world like a bunch of out-dated stamps. Despite my protests, the Post Office won't print my "It's just a fucking myth" stamps. Go figure.

4. Haha
I'd buy them. Just let me know where to sign up!

I'm not sure how I feel about the government printing up Jesus stamps without offering me alternatives. Maybe I should call the ACLU...

2. You had plenty of choices
The PO website lists them, and I know my local PO has most of them behind the counter. Either the girl was new or stock was low.

3. Can you just ask them...
to weight your card and get one of the printed stickies they normally give people for "heavier" envelopes? Might sound crazy but I have seen it done before.

11. They gave me the
Nutcrackers too at the supermarket
I mainly use two stamps a month, one for the gas bill and one for something-or-other-else.
I should have these until spring, which can't come soon enough as it is 17 right now.
It's the time of year hubby asks just what was the great reason we moved here from FL and bought this charming old cottage with hardwood floors?

8. Well, apparently on base
I was limited to baby Jesus or the Liberty Bell.

I don't use snail mail that often, so it's better that I have the liberty bell. After all, who wants to be using winter stamps in May?

9. Looks like all the good Xmas stamps got bought up
and all that was left were stamps with a picture of an adulterous woman and her bastard child.

Let's face it, that's what really happened.

10. Does that webpage that allows you to make your own stamps still exist?
Here are two suggestions for Christmas stamps:

13. It just means they ran out.
Sometimes Post Offices don't have the entire selection that is shown in the display. It annoys me sometimes, because I often look at the current stamps while I'm in line, and it's sort of like a teaser if I fall in love with one and they don't have it.

Here are ALL of the stamps that USPS currently sells:

http://shop.usps.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductCategoryDisplay?beginIndex=0&pageSize=10000&langId=-1&storeId=10001&catalogId=10152&categoryId=11834

And here is their "holiday" line-up. Keep in mind that around 70% of of all Americans identify themselves as Christian. However, there are two other types of non-religious "holiday" stamps.

14. The Postal Service needs some Xmas stamps. Even better, holiday stamps.
Or I could go for this: a stamp with Bill-O ducking a thrown shoe.
