See - here's the thing: The President is just full of crap ! |
|
Curtains - commercial.
That's what Keith just said after listing all the times Bush said we had "eliminated" or all "but gotten rid of" the Taliban. He was showing up that Bush flat out lied today when he said he never indicated we had gotten rid of the Taliban.
Now here is my question? Would you have believed this would happen on your screen - say - a year and a half ago?
Who says we have not made some real progress. Which will serve us very well when Obama comes into office and the evil ones come after him.
We now have Keith / Rachel / Air America / not a constant offsetting of TV talking heads by left/right "balancing acts" / we have a people that has been pushed to the brink, and they are waking up to who did it to them.
Keith just made me feel hopeful all over again.

1. You just witnessed, in a single sentence, |
|
why so many of us love Keith.
Remember the first time you saw that scene in "Raiders of the Lost Ark" where Indiana Jones comes up against the swordsman, and the guy is flipping his machete 16 different ways to show his mastery of the implement and how Indy is going to be dead meat going up against him, and you're thinking you're going to see some sort of epic fight between the two of them in which Indy's going to really have to be clever and deft in order to win...and Indy just gets this tired, world-weary look on his face, pulls out his revolver and shoots the guy dead? And the shock of it is so comical that the audience bursts out laughing?
Keith just did the exact same thing.
He's a master of words, an expert at crafting lengthy and eloquent verbiage to describe exactly what this president has done to this country in the past eight years in a 12-minute-long Special Comment with elegance and passion...but sometimes, when you think he's about to do something like that, instead he just whips out his revolver and shoots the guy.
Game, set, match, Olbermann.

2. Perfect - So well said. And though in "Raiders"I threw up into my popcorn |
|
and was not feeling too well (the asps coming out of the mouths of the statues) I remember the scene you describe. And that is precisely what Keith did.
