Are you disappointed that neither Bush or Cheney were impeached? |
|
and that it's highly unlikely that it will happen in these last 11 days? I am disappointed that it wasn't done at least by the House as a symbolic gesture if nothing else.

I really wanted those suckers impeached.
I still what them tried in a court of law, even if it's 20 years from now.

16. The historic record needs an accurate accounting, and investigations and hearings are all we've had |
|
in the past to inform us and future generations.
Imagine how little ANY of us would know about the last 40 years and BushInc's role in it without the benefit of the IranContra, BCCI and CIA drugrunning reports? The corporate media and MANY powerful lawmakers, both Dems and GOPs, certainly had no intention of connecting the dots for the American people.

2. We have failed as a nation to "draw the line" at this kind of behavior. |

5. I am simply unsurprised. There was never the critical mass in the House for it. |
|
And without that, it wasn't going to happen.
The GOP doing that sleazy, partisan, politically-motivated bullshit impeachment of Clinton has kind of turned that body off the whole impeachment thing for awhile.
Now, they're reluctant to use the tool even when it is warranted.

7. not disappointed but extreme anger. |
|
just remember what Cheney said: if this President did anything illegal he would have been impeached.
Now how do you like that slap across the faces of so many Americans. He has such disdain and contempt for the American people, and we are going to let them away with it.........sigh

No president in US history more richly deserved to be removed from office than that incompetent and war criminal, Bush. No single individual is a greater American political criminal than the war criminal and war profiteer, Cheney.

13. Way beyond disappointed..... |

Furious is more like it. Not at all surprised given our current crop of legislators, but not surprised. I've let the impeachment thing go but most certainly not the absolute mandate for prosecution.
I was listening to the news this morning and they were reporting on the Blago impeachment vote, which was unanimous.....meaning Dems and Reps all voted for impeachment. Of course, it make me think of Nixon and some of the Reps who were on the side of impeachment. And of course it made me think of the current crop of traitorous Rethugs in DC and too many spineless, complicit Democrats. The whole thing makes me sick. I can only hope that there are mechanisms for those outside of DC to bring the Bush regime to justice because, frankly, I don't know if it'll ever happen from within DC.

20. disappointed? DISAPPOINTED?? That is the understatement of the year |
|
I had a homemade "Impeach" sticker on my car starting the week after the last inauguration. I am seething, and refuse to give up hope that justice will someday be served in one way or another - but I want it to be here on earth. And I want to see it happen.

They literally got away with murder. Impeachment should be taken off the table forever, because it means nothing if bush/cheney wasn't impeached.

And it bodes ill for the future of this country. Criminals and mass murderers were allowed to go unpunished. Not a good precedent for the future.

The worst thing that could happen now is for Obama to either pardon Bush and Cheney or else decline to send the new AG after them. If either were to happen, I fear that America is finished.
