"We beat the banking lobby!"

President Bartlet triumphantly declares this to staffers outside of the Oval Office on an episode of "The West Wing" I am watching over lunch.

I can see this scene playing out during Bush's time as well. But in his case his triumphant declaration would be, "We felated the banking lobby!"


My point is this. What the Hell could they have to be proud about in the everyday Bush West Wing?

What sad little selfish people must they be.

Now the Bushies will leave and collect their payoffs from their corporate owners.

And America will shrug and move on.

1. What could they be proud about?

The lucrative job offers from the businesses they enriched, for one.

[fasttense]

2. They are proud of all their stolen loot.

They are thinking the American people are suckers and are laughing all the way to the bank.

America can't just shrug and move on because unless America holds them accountable, they will get bigger and stronger. They will never go away until they are held to account for their crimes. Ignoring a wealthy and powerful enemy only allows them to get more powerful. These thieves and crooks all first started in the 1920s. Now look at how powerful they are.
