It's time to get real. Let's update the Pledge of Allegiance |
|
"I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America, and to the Empire, for which it stands: one Nation under the thumb of the followers of God, indivisible, With Liberty and Justice for some, some of the time, more hopefully, now that Obama was elected."
That would be just a little more honest than our current quaint national delusion. And it would be healing to be a little more honest, i think.
What do you say?

Let's just cut it down to, 'Grease up and bend over'. That's what it's come to.

Your pledge definitely has a more poetic ring to it.

Some people would LOVE for that to be our pledge, and that's okay with me.

5. $4? The SO used her debit check card, was 19 cents short and had $40 in her savings |
|
so BoA took 19 cents out of the savings charged SO $35 for the over draft plus $5 transfer fees.

10. I don't know why, but that comes out scarier |
|
than mine, some how. Maybe it's the reference to Mammon.
I think the Obama line in mine kind of adds a subtle hint of hope which i also like, less cynicism.
Mine also has fewer changes somehow.
under.....(the thumb of the followers of) god, - there just seems like more continuity.
But thanks for posting the pledge to consider. That's an interesting color scheme for the flag
