The Right Wing is trying to set Obama up for failure in a lot of ways. |

But I think they're playing a very dangerous game, one that may backfire on them. Here, for example, from everyone's favorite duck: http://seattlepi.nwsource.com/fun/mallard.asp?date=20090102

3. I didn't post it because I thought it was funny. |
|
I think it's an interesting insight into RW thinking and strategy. They're trying to lampoon the high regard in which most of us hold Obama. This could backfire on them big-time as Obama starts remaking our society. (Obama isn't going to do that, but Americans are going to, and he will forever stand as the figurehead of the transformation that followed the "end of the reign of the witches"--to quote Jefferson).

6. You misunderstand, and partially its my own fault |
|
I regularly check up on Mallard Fillmore to see if they've started adding punchlines yet. It's a cartoon, and cartoons should be funny - the left-wing political cartoons manage to do so.
They've been lampooning Obama like this for some time now. I just thought they'd try to be funny about it.

7. You're certainly right about Tinsley & funny. |
|
(Well, Tinsley's DUI was pretty funny, but I don't recall that being in the strip). A strip like Doonesbury is very sophisticated and multi-layered--sometimes funny, sometimes not, by intention. Fillmore relies almost exclusively on evoking stereotypes and straw-man targets, plucking the chords of anger in an audience already tuned by the likes of Limbaugh, Coulter and Hannity.

5. It is true that the x-ray vision thing comes & goes; Obama himself is injecting levels... |
|
of reality that are not being considered in the midst of the glory, the giddy, the history of the moment by mentioning that even after slathering nearly a trillion $'s onto America's economy that even that will not be sustainable, that alone will not do the trick, that even more will need to be done.
Signs & Wondrous days coming for America, and in short order, confirming the greatest of her loftier poetries in ways others never even thought possible. But the primaries are over, there is no more pie in the sky. For too many still; suggesting Obama even has a job to do is to invite the swarm of the hive.
I still think Obama is smarter than even that.
