"Republicans Want Pres. Obama to Succeed" |
|
I hear this a lot. To what extent do you think it's genuine? You can answer with regard to both ordinary American Republicans and Republican politicians.

1. They want him to succeed because they think that he will fail. |
|
That's according to George Will on yesterday's This Week. (Not a direct quote btw.)

2. there is that hard core 22% that want Obama to fail, |
|
but I think most have taken it in the shorts and are ready to put aside partisanship for success. Unfortunately that 22% seems to include much of the M$M.

He is embarrassed by Bush. I think he was being sincere when he said that he wants Obama to succeed. He voted unenthusiastically for McCain, but seems willing to give Obama a chance. I remember when Clinton won in 1992, this guy was not nearly as charitable.

The reality is that the PROFESSIONAL GOPukes, those who make their living feasting on the body politic like so many maggots, will always oppose Obama because he may well interfere with their ability to rape the rest of us into submission.
Not saying he will, just that he could, and that possibility is enough to send these types into a foaming mouth frenzy.
Most people who are registered Republicans, on the other hand, are more or less moderates who lean to the right because that is how they see the American Dream. We may think they are wrong (we may think they are flaming assholes one and all) but hey its a free country. As long as they are willing to buy into the Obama mantra--not red, not white, just United--they will want him to succeed.
Hell, no one with any brains wants him to fail except maybe the most Troskyite or Stalinist "leftists" still around. Joe Six-pack could care less about the race or leanings of the guy who may save Joe's mortgage, job and his family's healthcare.
As for the PROREpukes, I think they will continue their ravings until even the most adamant social conservative will be forced to admit these people are not leaders, only sociopathic warts and the assend of our society.
