Oval Offices throughout the years
Nixon:

Ford:

Carter (psst... it's nearly the same as Ford's because Carter didn't change it):

Reagan (I think both Bush's reused those couches, which I find very outdated - Obama should change them):

Bush 41:

Clinton:

Bush the Lesser:

8. yeah but
Nixon's rug was in black and white, you'd think he'd've at least gotten a rug in color. They had color tv's by then, so why not color rugs?

....sorry, I'll get me coat...

2. I really wish Obama would at least get his own rug.
And those couches really do have to go.

3. I vastly prefer the blue rugs.
The cream/yellow/gold rugs, combined with the pale walls, just wash out the whole room. I think that the White House could contact the folks from Trading Spaces or While You Were Out or some similar show to redo the room.

On second thought, no. I had a sudden flashback of one of the Trading Spaces designers gluing straw (real straw, not strawpaper!) to the wall for a decorative touch. Ugh!

5. I do too.
The current Oval needs more blue. Maybe Bill Clinton's rug is still around somewhere in storage. That would work.

6. Agreed, Lugnut
Cinton's room with the dark blue rug appears warmer, more welcoming, less cavernous.

7. The Clinton sofas also add some pizzazz.
I think President Obama's Oval needs to reflect his personality.

9. I totally hate the bush rug. Maybe Obama could get Clinton's or Carter's out of storage
That wouldn't cost money, but would set a whole new mood in there.
