Olbermann's plug for tonight: Whistleblower with some explosive new |
|
information. Perhaps Sy Hersh was right, they're going to start coming out of the woodwork. We can only hope. Maybe this has something to do with rethugs' reluctance to confirm Holder. Hmmm...

There were no Bush Final moments pardons. So we all missed that final outrage completely. I really expected him to pull some slimy extra-constitutional maneuver to give himself and his minions lifetime immunity.
I guess thats a good thing.
But, I do expect a flood of angry repressed whistle blowers to come out singing this week.
No Bush Pardons? Makes you wonder, don't it?

Obama's order regarding the Freedom of Information Act today, many things we've been longing for here may come to pass sooner rather than later, through the natural evolution of people coming forward and information being requested and, amazingly, granted to We The People.

I hope these young people with the possibility of a good future ahead of them, come forth and clear their records, as well as expose the corruption they saw while serving in the Bush administration. They may think these "kids" weren't listening, but they would have another thought coming.
I hope Sibel is also one that comes forward.

17. i'm pretty much expecting it to be business as usual- same shit, different administration... |
|
that way i won't be disappointed, and may even be pleasantly surprised. clinton letting poppy & ronbo raygun's legacy skate away scot-free over iran-contra and the rest left a bitter taste that has never fully been rinsed clean. seeing george the much lesser's adminstration of treasonous bastards take all the falls they've earned would taste very sweet indeed- but i'm sure as hell not going to expect it to happen.

or begins to address our most pressing national problems.
the gitmo thing is a good ceremonial move- but it was already totally expected...and face it, most of those guys will still be under lock and key and out of reach of an american courtroom somewhere.
rescinding executive privilege over george the lesser's papers is by far the best and most hopeful news of the day, and it will be interesting to see if it actually yields anything meaningful- it may also end up being just an empty gesture, if there's no "there" there.
gorge the lesser was pretty busy on his first day(s) too, iirc.
edit to add- btw, i wouldn't expect and don't expect IMMEDIATE action and or results on/for the largest problems- obviously they are complicated and enormous and will take much time and effort to undo- if undoing is even feasible. but- it shouldn't take all that long to see what course obama will be steering us in to face them. and i'm hoping that he takes much more to port than to starboard. we've been drifting too far starboard for too long already. so- we'll see.

I'm a strong advocate of prosecuting Bush and his minions for treason. As John Turley said, if nothing is done to rebuke Bush, then all American citizens will own war crimes.
But, we very same people tolerate our draconian and ignorant drug laws. IT is a gross miscarriage of justice that a person in one geography can smoke pot quasi legally, and another person doing the same thing in a socially retarded area gets twelve fucking years of his life taken away by our laws.
Should be torch and pitchfork time just on this one issue.
