1 Killed In Tractor-Trailer Accident On I-95

BALTIMORE (WJZ) ―
One person is dead after a serious accident on I-95. It happened around 2:45 p.m. Wednesday. Authorities say a tractor-trailer and four cars were involved in the accident at I-95 North at Washington Blvd.

Kelly McPherson reports all lanes of northbound I-95 are closed at this time. Authorities say the tractor-trailer appears to have jackknifed and then erupted into flames due to the diesel fuel onboard.

The tractor-trailer was operated by the driver and his wife. He escaped but his wife was pinned inside and she died.

Those inside the remaining vehicles suffered only minor and non-life threatening injuries. The road is expected to be closed for some time. Northbound drivers are being diverted to Caton Avenue. The tractor trailer's driver was taken to the hospital.

2. that's chilling ... poor lady
Those tractor-trailers are scary. I-95 always makes me nervous. Whenever i'm on the highway, i do my best to get away from the trucks, not because i don't trust the truck driver, but because i don't stand a chance against a vehicle that large if something were to go wrong.
