What are gasoline prices in your area?
In our little group of villages, the lowest price is $2.85/gal. and the highest is $2.95--up $.20 since last Thursday.

3. At a Marathon station right across the street from my home in
SW burbs of Chicago, a gallon of regular unleaded is now $3.15, without the discount. With the discount, it's $3.04...

I filled my car up about two weeks ago and I paid $2.95 a gallon at a Citgo approximately 1 mile from my home.

How much will we paying for a gallon of gas one month from today? I'm figuring about $3.95.

8. $3.01 and climbing
 The day the little bastard took office gas prices started to rise and have continued to do so on a daily basis. Is this Cheney's way of getting back at us? Seeing how his approval numbers are at a whopping 9%, it wouldn't surprise me..

I thought they were just trying to groom us for $2.50 a gallon but it looks like now it's going to be $3.00. Wouldn't surprise me one bit if it's $5.00 a gallon by the time these bastards leave office..

45. Ha! "Now that we have a Texas oil man for president, watch the price of gas drop!"
The bu$hes are marinated in oil, including little georgie, who couldn't find oil in Texas!

Oh and didn't lying little georgie tell us that not only would the Iraqi oil revenues pay for this "war" but that it would also bring us cheap gas.

Hey FReeps, remember that little gem? :silly:

Fool me once..erm...can't get fooled again!

15. $3.72 for the Mid-Level
In my rinky-dink town, 70 miles outside of Los Angeles.
I moved to California in 2002, and I remember freaking out in 2003 that gas had gone up to $2.50.
Ah, the good old days...

BTW, here's another question: any of you out there have a job that pays you for miles?
I used to be a Production Assistant, and I used to get $.30 per mile from - let's just say one of the VERY big, VERY profitable studios.
I'm no longer a PA, but 5 years later and over $1 more per gallon - they're still giving $.30 per mile. (I just found this out from one of our PA's). And this is for a job where a young person, with no health insurance of course, making between $500 and $600/week (60 hours), driving their own car, can wind up driving around 300 miles per week.
Anyone else in that situation, or has your employer stepped up?

20. I've got two part-tme jobs that pay about...
45 cents a mile.

Duno if the rules are the same now, but many years ago when I got screwed on mileage the company told us to just deduct the difference between what we were paid and what the IRS allows for personal vehicles for business use. At the time, we were reimbursed about half the IRS allowance.

18. We are being made fools of
by these greedy oil mongers, the congress, senate and this administration. No item that I can think of have risen as high and as often as the gas prices under the Bush administration. I'm willing to bet that most of our representatives have heavy stock into the oil market at the sacrifice of the common working or middle class. It is dispicable and shameful how we are being ripped off by these people without any oversight or real investigation of these thieves with their lame excuses as to why they're selling this country out.

21. But, aren't we making fools of ourselves by...
not demanding, and buying, vehicles with better mileage?

By not demanding, and using, mass transit?

Half of DU talks of Peak Oil and how supplies are diminishing while the other half talks of dark conspiracies to screw us out of our pennies-- get it together and stop whining while doing something to reduce demand.

27. It's 2.89 here...in rural Mississippi
They can get away with it because of unofficial price collusion. As long as they each come to the realization that competition shaves profit margins independently of each other instead of communicating with each other, it's perfectly legal. Whether it's ethical is a whole different story.
