I just saw some idiot bashing Parents As Teachers program |
|
On my local paper's website.
He pissed me off saying it's just irresponsible parents and a useless program.
I'm guessing this guy has never been a new parent...plenty of responsible people need advice on their baby's development.

1. I have learned that parents don't like to be held to account for their abilities...... |
|
it is easier for them to blame someone else. We lack accountability in this country.....personally and professionally.

And when a child goes wayward, it's always somebody else's fault except for the parent.

2. a lot of parents today did not get the example of good parenting. |
|
today, more so than in the past, i think parenting classes are important. or for a new parent to have the desire to be open to learning.
i had excellent parents. i was also much older. and i still horded information on development.
any new parent that has an interest in listening to various parenting techniques and ideas gets a thumb up for parenting.

4. I have a three month old niece who uses this program... |

It's more about showing parents what they should be doing as far as physical and mental development.
It goes beyond showing parents common sense things.
