MSNBC Just Aired A Commercial For Fox News/Fox Business During Keith's Show......... |
|
I thought I saw this yesterday - but then thought I was only dreaming. I just caught the end yesterday and wasn't really paying attention. But today - I just saw the whole thing. A commercial for Fox News/Fox Business complete with Hannity, Beck, O'Reilly. I just don't believe it. Why would MSNBC air such a commercial? Why would Fox buy commercial time on MSNBC? I can't believe it.

CNN routinely airs footage from Fox News programs, ostensibly to discuss the "impact and cultural relevance" of the aired segments.
In reality, it's just another commercial for the big, strong, Conservative channel that CNN hopes to become.

5. Keith has said something like commercials 'roll,' shows have no info or control. |

6. Nope...They Probably Aren't... |
|
Every cable system gets a couple minutes per hour to peddle whatever they want to...usually local commercials but will plug other channels. I wouldn't be surprised if faux is paying for those spots...Comcast will gladly sell. I get ads ever so often for the local hate radio station...figure they've just wasted a bunch of money.

8. The second question is the really pertinent one. |

Me, I'm happy to see them absolutely wasting their money.

11. Could be part of a bulk buy |
|
Ad agencies often sell bundled packages for spots they can place across a variety of markets. They may have had a couple of spots they needed to place and found a place they could dump them to fill out a contract obligation

I think it's hilarious. :)
When somebody at an ad agency has spots to place, and a traffic manager ( that's me) has a few revenue spots left to fill before i can lock the log and get the hell out of the office on time, it doesn't matter what it is, if it will fly, I'll take it, see ya tomorrow :D

Their is only one reason a commercial airs, and that's because somebody paid a high enough rate to air it in that tp. In the television world, money talks, you buy the time and placement, you get the time and placement

10. Someone in the KOEB posted this last night |
|
but others didn't have it in other markets.
I look at it as either being part of a "package" where the cable company airs a set number of FOX's spots randomly, across all time slots, or whatever the package's parameters are.
Either that, or FOX decided to run ads for their sorry ass FOX Business channel on a Keith's show, because it knows he has great ratings.

13. Um. MSNBC is a business. Business requires advertising dollars. |
|
If they had a plethora of liberal advertising they could turn Fox down. However, it's a tough business. Please don't think that they are simply advocates.

15. That's really the bottom line |
|
I've worked in broadcasting for almost 12 years now, been a traffic manager for the last 6 and that's what it boils down to, " you buy it, we fly it"

16. Not unusual. I see that occasionally. MSNBC advertises on Fox now and then also. |
