Dust devils in Ft. Rock Valley today.
It is amazing how quickly it has dried out here. The dust in the high desert forest is terrible. They are calling for lightning early in the week.

I have been posting "large" photos from Flickr, but I think the "medium" size fits the screen better and takes less bandwidth. If you ever want the large version of a photo, PM me and I'll send you a link.

A dust devil in Ft. Rock Valley (22 miles away) this afternoon. That's Ft. Rock to the right. This is the view off the south side of my lookout tower. I never tire of it!

The 99% full moon rising over Porcupine Flats between Long and Short Buttes yesterday evening. Tonight the moon is full and rises at 20:16 (8:16 pm). I'll be ready with camera.

Photos taken with Canon EOS 5D Mk-II using a 70-200 IS f2.8 Mk-II zoom lens. Shot in camera raw and processed in Photoshop.

6. The first four weeks were hell. Carbon monoxide and snow, snow, snow.
But this week has been great!

8. I've never seen Fort Rock and Christmas Valley green this late.
This La Niña thing is strong this year.

Great photographs, DemoTex! Keep them coming, man.

9. My dear DemoTex!
Ah, those are both stunning!

I especially love the rising moon...*sigh*

Wonderful!

Are you using a tripod for shots like that moon shot?

Recommended.

11. I've got a pic of the Canon on the tripod for tonight's full moon shoot ..
I took the pic with my baby Canon point-and-shoot. I'll post it to this thread tomorrow.

I think I got some great full moon shots tonight.

12. Ah, lucky you!
Our skies are completely covered with thick clouds.....our "normal" June gloom. ICK.

I look forward with breathless anticipation to your full moon shots tomorrow!
