Is Howard Stern going to get the Larry King job?

I have to wonder about this. Howard has said he's been offered TV jobs. Howard is currently on vacation. The Larry King job is perfect for Howard Stern. It's right up his alley. If it happens, you heard it here first!

Seacrest tells Forbes he could do the job. "What does is a radio show on television with newsmakers," he said in his cramped Idol dressing room last month. "It's a great show and a format that's comfortable."

I think CNN would want a known personality that can touch on many topics and cover multiple issues. Howard is a mix of news, politics, and entertainment. He's a great interviewer and he's a lot calmer than he was 20 years ago.

He was also the popular favorite to replace Simon Cowell. This is actally a better format for him.

Howard is popular with totally different demographic than Larry. CNN to do this they'd have to trust younger viewers to actually watch, because I have no doubt the audience that watches Larry now would have no interest in watching Howard. I just don't see CNN rolling the dice at that time slot. He might be leading online polls, but do online poll voters = same demographic that watches Larry King. I don't think so.

Howard didn't bring up the American Idol job. The media did. And Howard didn't bring up the Larry King job. He's currently on vacation. I brought it up.

I highly doubt he would get that position, in fact I think he would be better at replacing Simon Cowell on American Idol than taking over for Larry King.

First, Stern would get huge protests from the fundies who have protested him for years. Second, Stern has pissed off alot of people over the years with his brand of interviewing. Don't get me wrong - Stern loves that he has done this. But there are alot of people who won't do a show hosted by Stern.

But with Idol, Stern has the perfect blunt, in your face attitude that would probably work like a charm.
