Neil Bush of Saudi Arabia

http://www.bendweekly.com/Opinion/5627.html

In late February, only a few days after Saudi Arabia beheaded four Sri Lankan robbers and then left their headless bodies on public display in the capital of Riyadh, Neil Bush, for the fourth time in the past six years, showed up for the country's Jeddah Economic Forum. The Guardian reported that Human Rights Watch "said the four men had no lawyers during their trial and sentencing, and were denied other basic legal rights." In an interview with Arab News, the Saudi English language paper, Bush described the country as "a kind of tribal democracy."

Neil Mallon Bush, the son of President George H. W. Bush and the brother of President George W. Bush, attended the forum to renew old family friendships and to drum up a little business for his educational software company. "The Jeddah Economic Forum has been very productive," Bush told Arab News. "I have been to this conference four times since 2002. I have seen it develop from the very beginning. There was less participation in the past, now there is more international participation."

-long informative snip-

Bush said it is important to gain "a more balanced perspective" on Saudi Arabia: "If I go by the images of Saudi Arabia portrayed in movies, that of gun-toting mullahs, then I think I will have a very different impression of Saudi Arabia than the one that is balanced and based on reason and facts."

Finally, Bush pointed out that Saudi Arabia is "a kind of tribal democracy that people don't talk about very much," he said. "So it hurts me quite a bit and causes me anguish over the ignorance outside about Saudi Arabia."

6. "whores"
aquart, please, "prostitute" has a less judgmental tone than "whores". We don't know the circumstances, nor ages of the females involved. It's always possible that they were young girls.

9. Huh? Whore is a dictionary word. And it has nothing to do with GENDER.
What, you think men can't be whores? You obviously don't get out much if that's your view. Ask JimmyJeff Gannon-Guckert, a famous BushCo whore.

Good grief. That little lecture is taking your "PC" train a stop or five too far.

2. Ignorance about Saudi Arabia? Is it ignorance to know that 17 out of
19 of the 911 hijackers were Saudi? Or that they stone people to death for adultery? Or what they even perceive as 'immorality'? Or that they lop off the heads of people for theft, hardly a capital offense. Or that they made sure that the price of crude dropped precipitously during the 2004 campaigns?

Who is this bastard calling ignorant?

3. "images of ... gun-toting mullahs"
Edited on Sun May-13-07 11:53 AM by TahitiNut
What a despicable and corrupt mythology! Sheesh! Even Goebbels and Himmler knew what fork to use at a state dinner! The 'bad guys wear black hats' infantilism is appalling! The worst of the worst are welcome at 'polite' social functions of the Bush family ... and the debasement of humanity is rarely attributable to those who behave like caricatures in a 'B' movie.

The loathsome corruption of an ideology that elevates 'royalty' is beyond salvation.

7. Commander AWOL is on intimate terms with the Saudis, too
Edited on Sun May-13-07 01:29 PM by SpiralHawk
Even though it was primarily Saudis who
attacked America on 9/11, Commander AWOL maintains his
his intimate relations with them.

What's that all about?

Why tell WMD lies about Iraq and attack them, when
it was Saudis who attacked America?

Please explain Commander AWOL.

We are waiting...

..if your reply was to me, I wasn't making a point about gender, but rather about the possibility that the females Neil used could have been trafficked and/or could have been children. This is Thailand we're talking about. Had that been a twelve-year-old, would you have called him/her a "whore"? BTW, they WERE females, right, or did we all just assume that they were?

11. "gun-toting mullahs"?? ANOTHER Bush who MAKES UP what "we" are all supposedly seeing!!
Edited on Sun May-13-07 04:22 PM by WinkyDink
His idiot brother and librarian-who-grabbed-the-first-rich-man-she-found wife always allude to their imaginary "nightly" scens of Baghdad carnage "on our televisions".

Of course, there was also Bush's watching the first plane crash into the WTC.

And Neil never DID find out why those hokers showed up at his hotel door. I'll bet they're still arriving in Saudi Arabia.
