LOTS OF SMILES AT THE VA!

It is written, "when you laugh the whole world laughs with you" however, that truism is a lie. Recently I met one of America's Finest and he wasn't so fine. He is suffering from PTSD.

A big smile is the mask he wears to hide pain. Does the whole world smile with him? I don't. In his eyes a certain sadness distracts my focus. In his words a certain anguish rips into my soul. In his lack of adequate care, a certain justice screams out into the night but still falls on deaf ears in D.C.
A hiring freeze due to inadequate funding is taking its toll. How long must they smile on the outside as their hearts break in silence? How long must our returning heroes suffer through poor care? How long will our leaders ignore this ever-growing problem?

Who's smiling now?
