To say 'the Democrats caved" is just not true.
The Democratic elected leadership may have caved.

But the Democrats didn't.

No doubt the most angry person among you can name many elected Dems who didn't cave.

I'm a Democrat. I am vehemently opposed to this bill.

So are (most of) you.

..... I'm just sayin' ..... just to be accurate ......

2. The Democrats didn't Cave
Okay, we didn't cave, but enough of our elected representatives did.

3. It's All About Context; Not Technicality.
I think it's pretty apparent that when spoken in that context, 'the Democrats' stands for those in Congress only.

4. Harry Reid and most definitely Rahm Emmanuel caved
I don't know about anyone else. That asshole emmanuel was all over the TV rationalizing his spinelessness this morning.

My opinion of that asswipe is lower than whale shit.

I think pelosi was bullied into this by a bunch of scared bunnies who don't trust the amurkin people so I'm willing to cut her some slack.

6. I think it's time...
For the Hon. Mr. Emanuel to be put in his place. He calls Dems who want good government "goo-goos", worked against candidates who could have won and has all the social graces, towards the base, of Atilla The Hun. He needs a spanking, bad.

5. The soldier served a purpose, the death was futile
Here is what I would like to ask Congress...

Members of Congress,

Why are we supporting a war we don’t support?

Don’t cut funds for the troops. Give them everything they need, spare no expense to get them home safely and quickly.

The mission is clear and urgent: bring them home. All resources and activity need to be redeployed toward that purpose immediately.

Who is served in this land of make believe when we act as if these ongoing deaths serve some purpose? The deaths are futile.

The soldier who dies today will give a life being faithful to values that matter deeply to him or her. Who among us is that committed? The soldier or marine will be brave fighter in the face of death, a hero to those of us who wished we had that courage, and yet also just a man or woman, who will never again stand up and be with those who stand around that early grave.

It is also inconsolably true that giving up this life, a treasure beyond price, is of no value. It will serve no purpose and we are forbidden to say that. The soldier served a purpose, the death was in vain. They’ll command we do not denigrate the sacrifice and once more employ that soldier for their ends, ask us to honor what the gave(so they save face).

Mr. Bush will keep doing more of the same and expect different results; many offer that as the definition of insanity, he calls it “steadfast.” The only good that comes from this death is saving face and looking good. There are some truths that are too painful to hear. Could you hear that you protected your status as decider and commander, that you guarded the authority of the president, and that you kept at it without relent -- by wasting lives? Why would we ever expect Mr. Bush to hear that?

The soldier who dies today will die fighting in a war you and I don’t support. Is this not true?
In fact, we have not supported it for a very long time. Why then do we pay for soldiers to die in vain?

8. OK, Then -- The People We Democrats Elected
OK, then -- how about this:

The people we Democrats elected -- they caved.

Or this:

The Democrats elected to serve the people - they caved.

Or this:

The Democrats elected to carry out the will of the people -- they caved.
