DiLorenzo drops exploratory bid to run for Oregon governor
John DiLorenzo, the Portland lawyer and lobbyist, said Tuesday that he is folding his exploratory candidacy for governor after concluding that he had little chance of winning as an independent.

In Republican Chris Dudley and Democrat John Kitzhaber, "we have two other centrists in the race...So it didn't leave a whole lot of room," said DiLorenzo.

DiLorenzo said he met in recent days with both of the major-party candidates and found both of them interested in parts of his agenda for boosting the state's economy. "I urged that each should strive to deliver today's service level for yesterday's prices," he said, arguing that, among other things, labor costs need to come down.
