It all makes sense - our troops are listening to Rush, Beck & Hannity - Armed Forces Radio |
|
It's no wonder that there is all this Obama bashing going on over there!
Was just listening to Hal Sparks, sitting in for Stephanie Miller this week, and some caller made this point. He has a family member who just returned from Afghanistan who trashed Obama.
This propaganda machine that we make fun of is brainwashing our troops. :grr: They are over there on Obama's orders (whether we agree or not with this stupid war) and they hear nothing but lies and disdain for their Commander in Chief. This is BULLSHIT!
Is Ed Schultz even still on Armed Forces Radio?
We need to put our heads together and fight this.

The institutionalized warmongers in the Pentagon can't be openly critical, so the Great Wurlitzer takes their place.
If the Pentagon really supported the CnC,they would put an end to it.

of Move On's General BetrayUs ad.... that's what our troops heard.
It's all so screwed up.

5. I assume that the commander in chief has some authority over what ... |
|
is broadcast to the troops. If that's the case then he can take care of the problem and we're free to concentrate on things he needs our help on.

6. Wouldn't that fall under Gates? I'm wondering if anyone has even thought about this - until now. |

11. Obama's the commander in chief and Gates serves at his pleasure. |
|
If he thinks that a program on armed forces broadcasting is subversive to his authority he should have it removed. Why he doesn't is anybody's guess.

Having such poison as a part of the daily lives of our soldiers is extremely disturbing. I agree, this is wrong.

I suggested to people that it wasn't right that the republicans were buying up all the newspapers and media. The idea was pooh poohed. SEE WHAT HAPPENED. If all you hear day in and day out are the lies these people spew what are you going to believe.

After 18 months with this new administration, you would think that someone would be able to figure out that those who are trashing the president should not be allowed to broadcast on the armed forces radio! Allowing this to go on is only going to make things worse, and letting the republicans have free run to bash the president to the troops is insane! Do you think that if a republican was president, and the majority of talk radio shows were bashing him the republicans in congress and in the WH would put up with it? Hell no, they would have had them off the air the first day the bashed the republican president!

15. The majority of the military |
|
has always been politically moderate to politically conservative. If Rush, Beck and Hannity weren't popular with the troops, Armed Forces Radio wouldn't be playing it.
Removing Rush, Beck and Hannity is likely to backfire and increase the resentment of the President among the military, not decrease it.

16. Yes. Ed is still on Armed Forces Radio. From my nephew who |
|
has served 3 tours I was told that soldiers listen to almost no radio. Most listen to their own MP3 players including their own play lists of music and messages from home. They are not unlike their civilian peers. How many of you know anyone in their 20s who still listens to AM radio?
The political divide in the Army is as deep at it is in the civilian world. Many white southern and midwestern soldiers are as conservative politically and religiously as their civilian counterparts. My nephew is a non-white soldier from Hawaii. The politics of those in his unit match the politics of native Hawaiian and racilly mixed Hawaiians in civilian life--liberal and Democratic.
