Fox News's follow up to the daily presser

We had Fox on because CNN didn’t have the afternoon blunderstorm on.

This is what Fox News viewers got coming out of the press conference

22M out of work!
oil prices down!
video of freedumbers protesting

Martha MacCallum is the host.

“We’ll look to the middle of the country tonight...”
“Here are some more numbers for you tonight. Forty one thousand dead....this new poll shows that 76% of people polled do not know anyone who has died from this virus”.
Gov. DeWine interview - the middle of the country thing - “Here are images of protestors. Are you feeling pressure from these protests?” DeWine stuck with safety first.

*EXHALE* 14 whole days without a cigarette

After tonight it will be 14 straight whole days since I had a smoke. I've smoked 34 of the last 37 years. Pack a day at least. Lots of life changes during this "time off". When I read that smokers who get the virus are 3X more likely to die...that was it for me. I knew I'd never get a better chance or have the motivation.

On the 5th I had 3 around morning coffee and then I slapped on a patch at 9AM. None since. Not counting the 5th in my total.

I quit over 10 years ago the night my daughter came home from the hospital. Lasted 3 years.
I don't know if the technology of the patch has changed but I haven't had any nicotine cravings this time. I still WANT to just have a smoke in the morning and about this time of night. I'm using a double eraser headed pencil I've kept for 20 years planning to quit AND Altoids - it replicates breathing something in. Other than that it really doesn't cross my mind. Lots of gum.

CNN Jeremy Diamond - goes after Trump. Trump "you aren't using the brains you were born with"

Diamond - 22 Million unemployed and 40,000 people dead. Why are you reading clips praising yourself?

Trump - I'm defending the doctors and nurses tens of thousands of people. You are fake news

Diamond - the clips were not about them. They were only about you and your administration

Trump - you aren't using he brains you are born with.

Trump took credit for it only being 40,000.
They went back and forth more.

*BOOM* Americans at WHO transmitted real-time info about coronavirus to Trump admin

Americans at World Health Organization transmitted real-time information about coronavirus to Trump administration

https://www.washingtonpost.com/world/national-security/americans-at-world-health-organization-transmitted-real-time-information-about-coronavirus-to-trump-administration/2020/04/19/951c77fa-818c-11ea-9040-68981f488eed_story.html

More than a dozen U.S. researchers, physicians and public health experts, many of them from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, were working full time at the Geneva headquarters of the World Health Organization as the novel coronavirus emerged late last year and transmitted real-time information about its discovery and spread in China to the Trump administration, according to U.S. and international officials.

A number of CDC staffers are regularly detailed to work at WHO in Geneva as part of a rotation that has operated for years. Senior Trump-appointed health officials also consulted regularly at the highest levels with the WHO as the crisis unfolded, the officials said.

The presence of so many U.S. officials undercuts President Trump’s charge that the WHO’s failure to communicate the extent of the threat, born of a desire to protect China, is largely responsible for the rapid spread of the virus in the United States.

Dozens of celebrities and musicians, including Lady Gaga, Stevie Wonder and the Rolling Stones, took part in the 8-hour show called "One World: Together At Home."

Global Citizen, an international advocacy group that organized the event, said early Sunday on Twitter that $127.9 million had been pledged in donations.

Following the live broadcast, Global Citizen tweeted: "$127.9 million for COVID-19 relief. That is the power and impact of One World: #TogetherAtHome."

Nature

Nature
Trump had the deal of a lifetime sitting in his lap. The Manhattan West Side Yards deal in the 80’s. A mammoth tax abatement funded project that would have created Television City and forever changed the NYC skyline. Trump would have a crowning achievement to show that the kid from Queens had CONQUERED the Manhattan real estate crowd. All he had to do was appease different stake holders (including Mayor Koch). Give a bit here and there but keep his eye on the prize, the big picture. Literally just sit in meetings and public hearings and nod, say a few nice words, connect on basic human levels. He just couldn’t do it.

Fast forward to now.

All Trump has had to do from even after he ignored the virus, ignored the Obama devised playbook, mocked, scorned, and thought he was “punching down” on the Libs and media was to show some compassion. Some empathy. 1 minute of each segment of the late afternoon blunderstorms to connect on a human level. People would have rallied around him at least more if not washing away 20-30% of the fumes from the dumpster fire. He just couldn’t do it.
