EBOLA: GUINEA TO QUARANTINE 816 PEOPLE IN LATEST FLARE-UP

Source: Newsweek

Guinea’s health authorities are tracking more than 800 people potentially infected in the latest recurrence of Ebola in West Africa.

An estimated 816 people who may have come into contact with Ebola victims or their corpses have been traced since Saturday, Fode Tass Sylla, spokesman for Guinea’s Ebola coordination unit, said on state television on Monday.

Sylla said that the contacts were cooperating and would be quarantined in their homes for 21 days, after which they would be released if they did not show any symptoms of the virus.

The recent Ebola epidemic in West Africa was the deadliest in the virus’ history, claiming more than 11,300 lives, including 2,500 in Guinea. The outbreak is believed to have begun in Guinea with a toddler who died of Ebola in December 2013. The country was declared Ebola-free on December 29, 2015, but four people have died in the latest flare-up in Guinea since February 29.

A while back I said something about Hillary Clinton calling Henry Kissinger her friend.

I was quickly corrected by a Hillary supporter who told me that Hillary didn't say that Kissinger was her friend, only that she had admired him and his work as Secretary of State. Well I got to thinking about it and decided to google it and this is what I found

From the NYTimes no less, in her own words to a review of his book "World Order":

http://www.nytimes.com/politics/first-draft/2016/02/12/hillary-clintons-ties-to-henry-kissinger-come-back-to-haunt-her/

“Kissinger is a friend, and I relied on his counsel when I served as secretary of state,” Mrs. Clinton wrote in The Washington Post, in a positive review of his book “World Order.”

The friendship came back to haunt her in the Democratic presidential debate on Thursday night, when Senator Bernie Sanders pointedly questioned Mrs. Clinton’s foreign policy judgment, saying President Richard M. Nixon’s secretary of state had enabled genocide in Cambodia under Pol Pot.

“I’m proud to say Henry Kissinger is not my friend,” Mr. Sanders said.

Investigators on scene of officer-involved shooting

Source: Houston Chronicle

A apparently unarmed man was shot and killed by a Houston police officer after the man allegedly became agitated and charged the officer.

Houston Police Department spokesman John Cannon said the officer was driving northbound Saturday about 5:45 p.m. along the feeder road of the Eastex Freeway when he saw a man at an intersection of Collingsworth St. damaging a traffic sign.

The officer, identified as K. Levi, pulled over and said the man appeared agitated and was yelling obscenities, and Cannon said the man appeared to be "under the influence of a strong narcotic."

As Levi tried to calm the man, Cannon said he began charging at the officer..

Donald Trump mischaracterizes freedom of speech

Donald Trump complained that protesters shut down his freedom of speech:

But the First Amendment doesn't protect Donald Trump from protesters.

The text of the First Amendment says that he is protected from Congress passing a law that abridges his freedom of speech:

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances.

Donald Trumps freedom of speech was not violated.
