Well I was feeling all down and out because about 2 weeks ago I was unfortunately caught in a flash flood while driving. I was worried that the insurance wouldn’t pay off what I owed on the car.

Today I found out my car was totaled. I’m getting enough to pay off the car and actually quite a bit more.

Thank you AllState and thank you Toyota for selling a car that has such a good resale value that the totaled value of my car was only about $500 less than what I financed the car 3 years ago.

I just found out that I was given the wrong ballot. I thought my congressman was Dan Crenshaw but the ballot I was given had Sheila Jackson Lee. I would have liked to vote against Dan Crenshaw. Anything I can do? Sheila’s district is solid. She doesn’t need my vote.

Baltimore prosecutors on Tuesday dropped all charges against Adnan Syed, the man who spent over two decades behind bars for the killing of his ex-girlfriend and whose murder case was featured in the landmark podcast "Serial."

The decision to drop charges comes 23 years after the disappearance of Hae Min Lee, Syed's ex-girlfriend and high school classmate. Her strangled body was discovered in a city forest three weeks later.

Vladimir Putin has taken to comparing himself to some of his czarist predecessors, invoking their military triumphs. In June, he praised Peter the Great for “taking back and reinforcing” territory in the Baltics in the Great Northern War in the 18th century.
But as Putin’s effort to conquer parts of Ukraine slogs into its sixth month, some historians feel he more closely resembles Nicholas II, whose 1904-1905 war against Japan was an unmitigated disaster.

The parallels between the two conflicts are undeniable. Just as Nicholas underestimated his Japanese adversary, so did Putin, who was convinced that his invasion of Ukraine would be a walkover.
