Meredith Vieira is sharing her own personal story in a candid fashionin hopes of helping others who are victims of domestic abuse.
Appearing on her eponymous talk show on Wednesday, the 60-year-old television personality shared a harrowing statistic, telling the audience "every nine seconds a woman is abused or assaulted in this country." She then revealed that she too suffered in an abusive relationship. She cited the recent Twitter trendthe #WhyIStayed and #WhyILeft campaignwhich encourages women to share the real and often heartbreaking confessions of domestic violence.
Inspired by the stories on social media and in light of the NFL fallout following the shocking video of Ray Rice punching then-girlfriend (and now wife) Janay Palmar, Vieira chose to share why she stayed in an abusive relationship "many, many years ago as a young woman" after noting that domestic abuse is a "very, very complicated issue."
"It started out with, we would have a fight and he'd just sort of grab my arm," Vieira recalled. "You know, I didn't think a lot about it. And then it turned into pushing me against the wall, then it went beyond that to actually taking his hand and grabbing my face and saying, 'I could ruin your career if I wanted to and no one would want you.'"

The link above has some free antivirus titles. Free antimalware is easy enough to find via Google. Good luck.
eta: Note my correction to free antivirus titles, my bad.
eta2: For free antimalware, I'd use MalwareBytes
use an anti-virus AND anti-malware program to thoroughly clean your computer

Shy versus "stuck up" ?
I usually assume someone displaying socially reticent behavior is shy, probably because I'm shy. It seems some people assume the exact opposite, with no verbal evidence of the person in question of being "stuck up". You run into this too ?

All aboard! A private high-speed Florida railway service linking Miami with Orlando is set to begin operation by the end of 2016, using German rolling stock made in the U.S. All Aboard Florida plans an hourly schedule on 195 miles of existing tracks that have not been used for passenger trains in almost 50 years. Phase two will add 40 miles of new track to extend service to Orlando International Airport. "We see a strong resurgence of rail service in the United States," said Michael Cahill, president of German engineering giant Siemens' rail systems division in the U.S. The trains will be made in Siemens' solar-powered rail manufacturing hub in Sacramento, California, with traction motors and gearboxes coming from Norwood, Ohio; propulsion containers from Alpharetta, Georgia; and diesel engines manufactured by Cummins in Seymour, Indiana. The locomotives will also be built to meet the new tougher emissions standards set by the federal government. The trains will operate at speeds up to 125 mph with a goal of making the 235 miles between Orlando and Miami in three hours.
