EXCLUSIVE: Trump says exposing 'corrupt' FBI probe could be 'crowning achievement' of presidency

Source: The Hill

President Trump in an exclusive interview with Hill.TV said Tuesday he ordered the release of classified documents in the Russia collusion case to show the public the FBI probe started as a “hoax,” and that exposing it could become one of the “crowning achievements” of his presidency.

“What we’ve done is a great service to the country, really,” Trump said in a 45-minute, wide-ranging interview in the Oval Office.

“I hope to be able to call this, along with tax cuts and regulation and all the things I’ve done… in its own way this might be the most important thing because this was corrupt,” he said.

Trump also said he regretted not firing former FBI Director James Comey immediately instead of waiting until May 2017, confirming an account his lawyer, Rudy Giuliani, gave Hill.TV earlier in the day that Trump was dismayed in 2016 by the way Comey handled the Hillary Clinton email case and began discussing firing him well before he became president.

Wayne Co. Commissioner proposes 'Bullet Bill' to limit sale of bullets

DETROIT (WXYZ) - Wayne County Commissioner Reggie Davis, who represents the 6th district, is announcing a new proposed bill that would limit the sale of ammunition and increase checks for people buying ammunition in Wayne County.

Nicknamed the 'Bullet Bill,' Davis said the bill will require a mental health background check on those who purchase ammunition in Wayne County as well as limit the purchase of ammunition. On top of that, ammunition would have to be purchased from a law enforcement agency.

Davis' brother, Vito, was shot and killed in Detroit.

"We must unload the guns. I do not want any more families to go through what my family and too many families have to endure on the killing fields of Wayne County," Davis said in a release.

Michelle Obama: When I was younger, thinking about going to college... #BetterMakeRoom

When I was younger, thinking about going to college sometimes gave me a pit in my stomach. I came from a working-class family. I was young, black, and female. Of course I doubted myself. But I didn’t let those fears win. #BetterMakeRoom

Sean Penn Says Spirit of #MeToo Movement Is to 'Divide Men and Women'

Sean Penn offered his thoughts on the #MeToo movement, saying the spirit of it is “to divide men and women.”

Penn was on NBC’s “Today” on Monday morning with Natascha McElhone to discuss their new Hulu series “The First.” McElhone said the show’s strong female characters were informed by the #MeToo movement. Penn disagreed.

“I’d like to think that none of it was influenced by what they call the movement of #MeToo,” he said. “I think it’s influenced by the things that are developing in terms of the empowerment of women who’ve been acknowledging each other and being acknowledged by men. This is a movement that was largely shouldered by a kind of receptacle of the salacious.”

When asked to elaborate, Penn said, “Well, we don’t know what’s a fact in many of the cases. Salacious is as soon as you call something a movement that is really a series of many individual accusers, victims, accusations, some of which are unfounded. The spirit of much of what has been the #MeToo movement is to divide men and women.”

“Today” co-host Natalie Morales responded saying, “Women would say it’s uniting women,” to which Penn replied, “I’m gonna say that women that I talk to, not in front of a camera, that I listen to, of all walks of life, that there’s a common sense that is not represented at all in the discussion when it comes to the media discussion of it. The discussion where if Sean Penn says this, so and so’s going to attack him for saying this, because of that.”

...

Despite Penn’s remarks, McElhone said the cast spoke about the movement “a great deal” on set.

Thank you, Ms. McElhone. Apparently, Penn didn't hear your voice.
