The cable, whose existence was first reported by The Guardian, was devoted to ways to expose foreign influence operations and falsehoods that "pose a direct threat to U.S. national security and fuel hostility toward American interests."
In a statement, the State Department said it would "continue to take an assertive stance on this pernicious issue" and that it would use "every tool in our diplomatic toolkit" while also protecting Americans' right to free expression.
The missive told diplomats to "coordinate with interagency partners as appropriate," singling out the Pentagon's Psychological Operations, formerly known as Military Information Support Operations (MISO).

In late November, Karoline Leavitt strode into the briefing room, holding her young son in her arms. A few steps behind Leavitt was “Waddle” the turkey, who was set to receive the traditional presidential pardon, but first made a stop in the briefing room. “We have Waddle,” Leavitt exclaimed to the room full of reporters. “Come on in, Waddle!”
The turkey obliged, taking its spot next to the lectern in the White House briefing room as the tone in the usually serious room took on a playful tone. Reporters jokingly asked the turkey a series of questions. “Waddle, why are you getting a pardon? What did you do wrong?” one journalist asked.
Amid the fun, photographers snapped dozens of images of the scene. Among those many pictures of the Thanksgiving spectacle was one in particular that incensed the White House—setting off a remarkable chain of events, with the image ultimately being pulled from the AFP and Getty Images wire photo libraries, Status has learned.

TV Series On Epstein Investigation Starring Laura Dern In Development At Sony, Report Says
Dern will executive produce and star as Brown in the series, which does not yet have other names attached to it.
Writer and producer Sharon Hoffman, known for her work on “House of Cards” and “Mrs. America,” is adapting Brown’s book for television and will be executive producer and a co-showrunner alongside Eileen Myers, an executive producer on the upcoming series “American Hostage.”
Brown will also executive produce alongside Kevin Messick and Adam McKay, the director of “Don’t Look Up” who also directed the pilot episode of “Succession.”

Pope Leo says God rejects prayers of leaders who wage wars
Addressing tens of thousands in St. Peter's Square on Palm Sunday, the celebration that opens the holy week leading up to Easter for the world's 1.4 billion Catholics, the pontiff called the conflict "atrocious" and said Jesus cannot be used to justify any wars.
"This is our God: Jesus, King of Peace, who rejects war, whom no one can use to justify war," Leo, the first U.S. pope, told crowds in brilliant sunshine.
" (Jesus) does not listen to the prayers of those who wage war, but rejects them, saying: 'Even though you make many prayers, I will not listen: your hands are full of blood'," he said, citing a Bible passage.

DOHA, Qatar — Russia took satellite images of a U.S. air base in Saudi Arabia three times in the days before Iran attacked the site and wounded American troops, according to a summary of Ukrainian intelligence shared with NBC News by President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
In an interview in the Gulf nation of Qatar on Saturday, Zelenskyy said he was “100%” confident Russia was sharing such intelligence with Iran to help target U.S. forces across the Middle East.
“I think that it’s in Russia’s interest to help Iranians. And I don’t believe — I know — that they share information,” he said. “Do they help Iranians? Of course. How many percent? One-hundred percent.”
During the interview, Zelenskyy shared a summary of the daily presidential briefing he receives from Ukraine’s spy agencies. The report stated that Russian satellites had taken images of the Prince Sultan Air Base in Saudi Arabia on March 20, March 23 and March 25.
