We have a lot more Senate seats up for re-election in 2024 than the Republicans do. I am worried about it. What should we do? Do we have any kind of clear strategy for staying in control of the Senate? I don't think that it is too early to address this problem. There are too many MAGA Republicans now. I would be less concerned if the majority of Republicans were moderates, but they are not. The Trump Era remains a terrible stain on our democracy. What can we do to mobilize for 2024?

His "businesses" are all built on debt/loans/credit and scams and puffery. Everything he touches turns to garbage. Art of the Steal.
Trump Enemy Of Democracy And The Constitution
Trumps latest social media posts show in plain sight that he wants to suspend the Constitution and install himself as a Dictator. He and his Fascist Moron MAGA followers need to be stopped at all costs.
Democracy In China And Elsewhere
Protests in China remind us that promoting Democracy in places where it does not exist is the morally correct position. It is also in our national security interests. If China were a Democracy it would be an ally and not a rival or enemy. The people of China deserve Democracy and Freedom like any other people.
This would be true in Russia, Iran, or any other nation. People deserve Democracy and it would be a much better and safer world if these nations and peoples were free democracies rather than ruled by authoritarian regimes. The benefit to the world would be vast if we had free democracies instead of authoritarian governments. Representative Democracy is really the only legitimate form of government.
If these nations had democracy we could perhaps cut back on the whole mass of the military industrial complex and develop a peaceful, just, and prosperous world. We could put those vast resources into human well being through health, education, social welfare, and a strong, vibrant, and prosperous economy.
So it is in our own self interest to promote global democracy but it also a moral imperative to do so. We should do everything in our power to promote democracy in places like China, Russia, Iran, and everywhere else in the world. It is our moral responsibility to create a global system of peace, prosperity and democracy and to oppose authoritarianism. It would also create a much safer and secure world.

Could We Ally With Centrist Republicans Against MAGA Extremists?
The Republicans have a very narrow margin in the incoming House. Radical MAGA Republicans like MTG are taking advantage of this by pressuring McCarthy for a more extreme agenda. But what about Moderate Republicans like Kinzinger?
Could we possibly ally with anti-MAGA Moderate Republicans? If we added enough of them, we might outnumber the rest of the Republicans and stop the MAGA agenda.

Is This A Possibility?
The Republicans have such a narrow margin in the incoming House that MAGA extremists like MTG and Jim Jordan are going to be able to dictate the agenda to whoever is Speaker (presumably McCarthy). The MAGA extremists might run the show.
That said, there are a number of more moderate Republicans that were elected in districts that Biden won. Is it possible that Democrats could ally with these more Centrist Republicans against the MAGA crazies? An alliance between Dems and more moderate Republicans.
Can Joe Biden reach across the aisle and bring in moderate Republicans to ally with the Democrats and defang the MAGA crazies? If so, we could pass some important legislation to benefit the country and defeat the most extreme right wing MAGA Republicans. What do you think?
Florida Battleground
I wonder if anyone has any idea what the Democratic strategy should be going forward in Florida? We did well throughout much of the country this election cycle but Florida has become a Red Problem. The key there is probably the Latino vote which went conservative this election. I think that we need to run Latino/Latina candidates down there if we are ever to be competitive in Florida. What do you folks think we should be doing? I do not think that we should concede the State to the Repubs. It is a very expensive state to campaign in but I do not think that should deter us from trying.
Repubs and Social Security
I have been hearing mixed messages. Some say that if the Republicans take back the Congress they will kill Social Security and Medicare. Of course I hope that we will hold the Senate and the House, but it remains to be seen. Anyone know any good sources on the threat to Social Security?
Government Property
Even if all the Mar A Lago documents were declassified (they were not) there was still no reason for Trump to have taken Government Property after leaving the White House. The fact that there were many classified documents amongst the Government Property just compounds the crime and makes it a much more serious National Security issue.
