Magaloon was going off about our new S.C. Judge KBJ

After listening to him for 5 minutes with half an ear, I asked "You be OK with her if she was a republican?"
To which I received a negative word salad answer, then I asked "So you're a racist then?" End of conversation.
Didn't care to talk to this idiot anyway.

U.S. economic performance under Democratic vs Republican presidents

Historically, the United States economy has performed better on average under the administration of Democratic
presidents than Republican presidents since World War II. The reasons for this are debated, and the observation
applies to economic variables including job creation, GDP growth, and stock market returns. The unemployment
rate has fallen on average under Democratic presidents, while it has risen on average under Republican presidents.
Budget deficits relative to the size of the economy were lower on average for Democratic presidents.[1][2] Ten of
the 11 U.S. recessions between 1953 and 2020 began under Republican presidents.[3]

During a March 2004 interview, Donald Trump stated: "It just seems that the economy does better under the
Democrats than the Republicans."[16][17] The Joint Economic Committee Democrats summarized and expanded the
Blinder and Watson analysis in a June 2016 report, writing: "Claims that Republicans are better at managing the
economy are simply not true. While the reasons are neither fully understood nor completely attributable to policy
choices, data show that the economy has performed much better during Democratic administrations. Economic
growth, job creation and industrial production have all been stronger."[18]

Journalist David Leonhardt wrote in the NYT that economists he interviewed were not certain of the cause. One
possibility for the consistent outperformance by Democratic presidents was: "Democrats have been more willing to
heed economic and historical lessons about what policies actually strengthen the economy, while Republicans have
often clung to theories that they want to believe — like the supposedly magical power of tax cuts and deregulation.
Democrats, in short, have been more pragmatic." He wrote that Democratic presidents championing the ideas of
John Maynard Keynes have taken stronger fiscal action to address crises.[9]

7 Reasons for over-performances by Democratic presidents

Every section paints Democratic control of the White House preferable over repugs. This being true, it should
also apply to control of Congress. With midterms fast approaching we need to spread this information far and wide
on social media sites. Dare people to seek the truth for our Democracy depends on it. Locally in my red town,
I'll be offering Rs a free $100 if they can prove this Wikipedia page is fake news with actual FACTS.

You can too, but don't bet 'em a $100, to many will be afraid of losing money, offering free money should get
Rs searching for the truth. Plus remind them opinions are not FACTS!

So, start with "Does our economy do better under Ds or Rs?", then "I'll give you a $100 if you can prove if the
U.S. economy does better under reQublicOn presidents than Democratic Presidents." and "Here's what I'm starting to
believe, https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/U.S._economic_performance_under_Democratic_and_Republican_presidents"

Remember any FACT they find will not convince you or outweigh Wikipedia's FACTS. Keep your money.

Court throws out convictions in 2003 Kansas City killing

KANSAS CITY (AP) — The Missouri Supreme Court has thrown out the convictions of a Kansas City man who has
spent 16 years in prison for a slaying that he and others contend he did not commit.

Carnes' attorneys petitioned the high court in January for his release based in part on witnesses recanting their
statements, but also on a Jan. 18 report by a special master who reviewed the case finding that Kansas City police
did not give Carnes’ original defense team a report from a confidential informant that might have led to his exoneration.

Missouri Attorney General Eric Schmitt fought the effort, arguing that Carnes' argument that the police report was
withheld is “without merit" and that Carnes did not meet the legal requirements of providing new reliable evidence
that would prompt jurors not to convict him.

Schmidt’s efforts to keep a man in prison despite evidence of innocence mirrors his response in a similar case last year.
Schmidt, a Republican who is running for the U.S. Senate, fought to keep Kevin Strickland in prison after Jackson
County prosecutors filed a motion seeking his release, saying that evidence showed Strickland had served more than
40 years in prison for a triple murder he did not commit. Strickland was exonerated and released from prison in November.

Expensive lesson, I'm learning

Should have given him the $100, but then I was only looking at a couple pictures on his phone.
Appears he put it on for $600, no bidders.

Kansas Senate gives major shakeup of ballot drop box

A bill approved last week by the Kansas Senate would limit drop boxes in all but the largest areas of the state to one
per county and add new security measures for surveillance. It would also end a three-day grace period for mail
ballots to arrive after Election Day, requiring ballots be received by 7 p.m. on election night.

The bill would change that, limiting the 20 largest counties to one drop box per 30,000 residents and perhaps more
notably limit any counties with fewer than 30,000 registered voters to just one remote box. The boxes must be in
a government building or be manned by poll agents.

Efforts to end the three-day grace period have popped up in the Legislature in the past but none have succeeded
in passing through the Legislature. Supporters said this was necessary because changing voting tallies after
election night would hinder trust in elections.

An amendment to the bill would require that drop boxes be in a government building and continuously surveyed by
an employee when accessible to the public. Sen. Richard Hildebrand, R-Baxter Springs, brought the amendment
because he noted video cameras would do less to prevent any illegal activity and may not capture someone’s face.

Your ballot must be in the election office by close of polls on election day or they don't count.
So the Post Office's postmark don't count for anything anymore.
Don't know if they have enough votes to override a Gov. Kelly veto.
