1. In 1965 when I was 14, I had a shortwave radio. Sometimes I listened to Radio Havana.

Also Radio Hanoi rebroadcast from Radio Havana. Even at 14, I was amazed by how crude and unconvincing and downright inane the propaganda broadcasts were. Fox News reminds me of them an awful lot.

It wasn't just because 1965 me hated Commies. Radio Moscow was pretty well done. You could actually listen to it.
