(63,193 posts)It isn't kpete's brother, but the Twitter account holder's brother.
Also, it isn't about the Beefaroni. (I have some in my pantry, too.) It's about not having fuel to burn to heat the food, or even a can opener for his other foods. He didn't think about that vertical level of planning. He didn't take himself through the process of having, accessing, heating, etc. Many of these "preppers" aren't prepared for anything except indigestion, and they simply don't realize how much they depend on others.
The twitter poster had been fed up with the QAnon rantings from his brother about the world coming to an end, and that he was fully prepped. The prepper missed the simplest objectives in planning for the end of the world. His survival skills aren't that great, IMO.
(I've run into this myself, as a potential flood victim, and having lived in a hurricane zone. I had iodine tablets on hand, a great camping water filter, containers and bleach, if necessary, for keeping a potable water supply, as well as a camp stove, etc. When I went to the store to pick up a few extra comfort items, a middle-aged woman was crying about the shelves being empty of water supply. I had to give her tips on how to care for herself.)
