could be due to the fact that Delta itself is so much more virulent than other variants of the COVID virus itself, and the bio-processes by which the mRNA vaccines work trigger off a tonne of disease-fighting components that increase the side effects. Obviously that is not a definitive answer, but they seemed to be pretty sure it was one of the underlying causes.
