We have been watching that particular number from a distant place, Australia.

Wife has a number of relatives over there. Some close relatives, like sister, others a bit further removed on the family tree.

So far, no deaths in the tree. But one million Americans weren't so lucky.

See if you can spot a difference -
Deaths per million population:

Australia = 224.
USA = 2,994.

I will let you suggest reasons why the numbers are so different. I have my own theories on that.
