(7,604 posts)any possible thread that will give them power. They've got a huge propaganda machine, which is intent on winning through lying, and nothing else.
They've got a party still led by Trump, who is vicious and inept and ignorant and vengeful and fascist. His most loyal followers are first-rate bullies and criminals.
They have no policy statements that resonate with any part of the population (except perhaps the extremely wealthy). All they have is hatred toward the opposition. And that's not nearly enough. The GOP is hollow. There's nothing on the inside, except fealty toward Trump and even Putin.
The J6 Committee will help the nation gain a wider perspective on the attempted coup and the continuing efforts by Trumpers to overthrow the next two elections. We all need to step back and gaze at what exactly happened. And when we're done with understanding the severity of the GOP's offenses against the nation and the Constitution, the population as a whole will finally reject Trump.
