He's always been a racist, he's always been a fascist, he's always been a creep, but lately he's having a lot more trouble concealing it.
I used to loathe Bill Gates and still think Gates sucked all the joy out of early personal computing, but everyone always knew Gates was a shark, and sharks have a place in any oceanic ecosystem. And I think Gates eventually did redeem himself somewhat when he got bored with being a shark and realized he wasn't immortal.
Elon Musk is a different sort of creature. I've always imagined him as the science fiction character who'd get himself thrown out of an airlock half way to Mars, screaming "I OWN THIS SHIP, I OWN YOU!" with his last breath.
Maybe he'll find some sort of enlightenment in this Twitter misadventure, but I doubt it. Musk is a lot like Trump. He's the center of his own universe.
From the perspective of guys like Trump or Musk there are only three types of people in the world -- those who are useful to them, those who are useless, and those who threaten them. People like Trump or Musk are dangerous, especially when they feel threatened.
