I voted early on Sunday in New York, and it looked like there was a long line, but it moved really fast. I think the longest I have ever waited to vote since moving to New York was 15 minutes in 2012. I believe there is a state law capping the number of voters per polling place, so long lines are rare. Early voting is somewhat new here, and Sunday was the first time I utilized it. I never saw a reason to vote early given how long the polls are open here on Election Day (6 a.m. to 9 p.m.), until this past August when I got COVID and had to skip voting in the primary.

New York politics is not without its problems, but this state does voting pretty well, at least in my experience both in the city and now in Nassau.
