I'm glad the impact in your area (and my younger daughter's) was not as great as feared, but better to be prepared! I don't know if you saw this, but schools in Milwaukee (where the debate was) were cancelled again because of heat, even as those con artists on stage were denying climate change. After THIS summer! (And this WINTER in South America.) And as we've seen, these unprecedented events can become devastating very quickly, so I appreciate the caution and preparedness that preceded this event. (I mean, media will hype, but better for government and communities to err on the side of over-preparation than to be under-prepared... and perhaps the warnings to stay off the road prevented some disasters.)

It was a major hurricane but the longer forecasts predicted weakening before SoCal
