This is a pet peeve of mine.
We are conditioned to assume perfect speech because of tv and movies.
No! Real life does not work that way.
If you received a transcription of your verbal speech over a 24 hour period, you would be appalled.
Filler sounds, poor grammar, spoonerisms, gaffs, whatever. We all do them. Constantly!
Name replacements? OMG! Just ask a parent of multiple children how many times they used the wrong name. Did anyone call their elementary school teacher "mom" once or twice? When some asshole is consuming your thoughts (like an opponent or a rival), you are going to more readily bring their name to your lips.
I am so sick of people not recognizing reality!
