(36,160 posts)43. More misleading than a thread 100s of posts long discussing the content of a factually inaccurate or misleading title?
At least once a day (generally more frequently) I encounter massive threads reacting to the title of the thread (alone), as if it was fact, when it is - at best- a misleading figment of the title editor's imagination and, at worst, a blatant lie, added fir click bait.
In many instances, the content of the post included by the OP directly contradicts the title given by the publication. But way too many people on DU react to the title of the OP, without reading the content, so the title should be factually accurate and but misleading, even if the source provider wrote it solely to generate clicks.

I'm sure this title was a clickbait attempt to make people think JB had made the inappropriate remark.
