It's not the bounds of possibility that once Joe wins in November that he could make way as President for Kamala, in the last two years, and to paraphrase Andrew Gillum, "maybe some people, don't want some people, to become President".

So they take him out now and somehow force him to see out his term, without making Kamala President, while bypassing her in an open convention.
