They're just buying public statements, and they're not trying to invalidate the primaries, just encouraging Biden to voluntarily step aside. Nothing illegal going on.

Reprehensible, perhaps.

Stupid, yes, incredibly so.

Contrary to the spirit of democracy, for sure.

But not illegal.
