(28,570 posts)I live in a small city at the edge of a major metro area. I am definitely in the country if I go a few miles in some directions. Despite the proliferation of rump paraphernalia in yards four years ago (even eight years ago), its much more scattered nowadays. I realize that every household who didnt put crap on their property wont suddenly switch party affiliation, but I think it indicates a general malaise toward his execrable campaign.
But I digress.
I have met good Democrats and progressives in these areas who dont wear their politics on their sleeve, but still appreciate recognition for their often unheralded accomplishments. It doesnt help to lump the rural population into an uneducated , racist, cousin-fucking cohort. Again, I question the motives of those who persist. Doesnt sound very progressive IMO.
