19. I remember one Thanksgiving

maybe a decade ago... sitting down at the table with my sister, her husband, and her 4 adult children. They were all budding MAGAts at the time. And the pre-dinner conversation turned to politics and they all sat there and slammed the "freeloaders" and do nothing government workers... etc.

For the sake of peace in the family I said nothing.

7 adults at the table include myself.

All 6 of the complainers were getting money from the government. My Brother-in-law was getting thousands a month in a disability checks, one of the kids worked as a sheriff's deputy for the county, another worked as an IT worker for the state university, another one was in the military ( Navy ), and the last kid worked for a private company but she worked on a government grant to study a new drug from a big pharma. and even my sister was getting money for a job that had mass mailing contracts for the federal government. Every LAST one of them was doing a job that directly or indirectly was being paid by the government.

I will never understand these people.
