14. Agree he's the odds on favorite. I'm leaning toward Beshear actually.

I know Kentucky isn't gettable. But I think he fills a whole we've been been bleeding out of for decades. Both governor's are expert campaigners. I think Beshear is a little better, a little more fun & relatable. That's subjective of course. But he comes off more as the buddy you go fishing with.

And he looks younger. We need to hyperexcite the under 30 voters to win. Dems win best with big turnouts.

But the other whole he plugs (slightly) better are white men. We won't win that demographic except in Massachusetts, but we need to draw over more white guys to tip the scale in enough purple states to rebuild the blue wall. Kamala needs to show that it's cool for a white guy to be comfortable working under WOC. Bless their hearts, too many independent men need to see that modeled still. Beshear, who won in Kentucky where Biden lost by 25 points and Clinton by 30(!), can subliminally give that assurance. And Andy did that while standing firm on issues like a woman's right to choose and sensible gun laws--he actually lost his political mentor in a mass shooter incident in a bank a few years back.

I'll be happy with Shapiro. I kinda suspect he's gonna deliver Pennsylvania to our ticket anyway. I also see him as a possible future president -- 2032 or (God help us) 2028. He's a highly uniting candidate. I'm just not confident that he'll appeal as strongly to men outside the rust belt -- especially swing states like Nevada, Arizona, Georgia, and North Carolina.

A VP's only real job is to be ready to be President. If they don't have that aura they are worthless ZonkerHarris Jul 2024 #22
