If not now then when?

That is such a powerful civil rights message.

And the discussions here on DU about possible vice presidential choices prove that it must remain center stage right now.

Can a ticket of two women win in 2024?
Some people feel that the country is not ready for that.

Can an African American Presidential candidate have a Jewish Vice President?
Again, some people feel the country is not ready for that.

Can an openly gay married man be on the ticket in 2024?
And yet once again, some people feel the country is not ready for that.

To those doubts, I say the time is NOW.

We are Democrats. It's our responsibility to help move society forward.

Our candidates are not weather vanes needing to test which way the wind is blowing, no, they are LEADERS.

Not only has the country been changing for the better, we Democrats have worked to make those changes possible.

This is not the time to drag our feet. It is time to light the way forward.
