(9 posts)In 2020, I figured that the Democrats would need at least 52 Senate seats to accomplish much legislatively because Democratic Senators from swing states arent likely to vote the party line consistently, and West Virginia (which Joe Manchin represents) isnt even a swing state. Most of my campaign contributions that year went to close Senate races. So when we got a 50/50 Senate, I figured that Joe Bidens legislative agenda was basically dead.
What I had overlooked was Bidens many years in Congress. He worked miracles getting stuff through Congress. Trump had talked for four years about passing an infrastructure bill; Biden did it. Bidens ability to get Congress to address climate change will benefit Americans for years to come.
Biden also brought a steady hand to foreign policy, strengthening NATO and letting other countries know that the United States would be a trustworthy partner. I dont know whether Biden will be the best President in my lifetime, but hes been the best so far.
