A manufactured Hollywood heroism

Not just him, but the elevation of pretty much anyone into a "true American", often if not always for some made up patriotism ideal. Ronald Reagan got some of that, a "great" American actor, turned Republican and began climbing the ladder to political power. Reagan could play a hero, but he was unfit for military service, something often overlooked by his followers (reminds one of Trump, with his bone spurs).

A lot of things in the past were warnings about what we're seeing today, but it was ignored. We must never let that happen again, we've come too close to Project 2025 becoming reality even more than it is already. We've allowed religious freaks take away women's rights, and that must be fixed. We've let our populace be dumbed down, and that must be fixed. Corporations are not people, and that must be undone. And so much more, like war for profit.
