(30,148 posts)please do not tell them what they're intentions are or were...Doing so represents an attempt at mind reading, if not villifying, and is explicitly against the rules of the site.
As for the comment itself, please remember that the term "bitch" is just one of a plethora of slurs directed at human females, not just a sign of bad manners. Pretending otherwise ignores centuries of misogynistic oppression, and denies the "real historical weight and harm" behind the slurs it represents.
Yes, this racist's behavior was appalling, but the point is, it's no more related to her gender than bad behavior on the part of other marginalized peoples is related to their race or orientation. To claim otherwise is like saying it's "ok" to use the N word if the person being targeted is a bad person.
Insults must address character, not immutable characteristics of birth or orientation. Refusing to do that for everyone, makes us hypocrites.
