Ususallly we demonstrated downtonwn but this one was on a major thoroughfare to shopping, potentially reaching more people.
The people driving by had signs of their own. We were demonstrating, but the people driving by were demonstrating too.
I wonder if anyone anticipated this. It was a back and forth. We were talking to each other. People were driving by to see the demonstration. A couple were Trumpers, but overwhelmingly sympthaizers honking back. My favorite was "No King's here.", a small silgn in a passsenger's lap. But I also loved the dogs with rainbow colored vests.
When we arrived, it was a rush to honk to the demonstrators, on our wy to uor parking space. When we were on the other side, as demonstrators, it was a rush to hear most of the vehicles honking. Grudually, 60% become 90%. People were arriving increasingly not to shop but to join the demonstration. The traffic gradually backed up to nearly standstill. There were too many people coming by and they hd to slow down to see the signs.
Tis a result I don't think was anticipated. It will either encourage these kinds of demonstrations or kill lthem. We are learning how to resist. We are smart. We are true in our hearts. We wiil win
WE WILL WIN.
