Merz: 'Israel is doing the dirty work for all of us by striking Iran, lacks necessary weapons' [View all]

German Chancellor Friedrich Merz told German radio, on Tuesday, during an interview at the G7, that by striking Iran, Israel was doing "dirty work" for everyone. Merz said in relation to the strikes on Iran, "That is the dirty work that Israel does for us all."

"I can only say I have the greatest respect for the fact that the Israeli army and the Israeli government had the courage to do this," Merz continued.

Merz reiterated that for years the Iranian regime has plagued the region with terror and that this terror would only be more possible with nuclear weapons.

"Israel lacks the necessary weapons; the Americans have them." Merz continued. He followed by saying that if the Iranian regime had been willing to negotiate, then further military intervention would not have been necessary.
